Johnny Depp‘s big screen adaptation of the classic gothic horror TV serial Dark Shadows now has a director – Tim Burton!
Depp’s company, Infinitum-Nihil , bought the rights to the ground breaking Dan Curtis supernatural soap opera which aired on ABC from 1966 -1971.
Depp, a long time fan, will reportedly star as Barnabas Collins, the tormented vampire who is resurrected in modern-day Collinwood.
According to the folks at IESB.net, John August is scripting Depp Shadows and Tim Burton will be directing.
To date, Burton and Depp have collaborated on six films beginning with Edward Scissorhands to the recent Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
