Jill Whelan: ‘Love Boat’ Star Is Washed Up And Broke

Jill Whelan was a hit in the ’70s and ’80s as Captain Stubing’s daughter Vicki on “The Love Boat” — but now she’s been hit with near-bankruptcy!

The 49-year-old former starlet has had her dreams of radio stardom crushed, as she’s filed court papers asking for child support from her estranged ex-husband!

Jill is claiming that she’s down to only $5,000 in assets for herself and her 10-year-old son in L.A.

Meanwhile, Michael Chaykowsky is living large in a New Jersey mansion!

The court papers are also an embarrassing confirmation that Jill’s budding radio career has fizzled.

She left her husband to join longtime radio star Brian Phelps in Los Angeles to replace Mark Thompson in a morning-radio show on KLOS, after Brian spent 25 years with his old partner hosting “The Mark and Brian Show.”

“Then she found out that Brian was leaving the show, too,” said a radio insider.

“He decided they could make more money taping a show and selling it through the internet!”

“The Mark and Jill Show” debuted strong in internet sales, but quickly fizzled.

“Jill has tried taking on a new podcast partner,” said the radio industry veteran, “but she’s really only a draw when it comes to ‘Love Boat’ reunions!”
