SIMON COWELL had wanted WHITNEY for “The X Factor” but now he’s close to signing JANET JACKSON!
After The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Whitney Houston had been under consideration for a judge’s seat on the show, reports have surfaced that another pop diva is considering throwing her past wardrobe malfunctions to the wind and join Simon’s roadshow “Rhythm Nation” talent show.
Sitting with Anderson Cooper last night, JJ tiptoed around the subject but sources say Janet is super keen to join up.
“Oh my God,” Janet, 45,said on-air. “No, I’m not a judge on The X Factor.”
“You’re not currently a judge on The X Factor,” asked Cooper insistently.
“No, I am not.
"But THAT’s all I really think I should say.”
At this time, natch, as all talks are in the prelim stages, as Cowell courts candidates to replace trashed judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones.
