HORROR QUEEN INGRID PITT R.I.P.

description

Hammer Films’ scream queen INGRID PITT dead at 73.

Pitt’s daughter confirmed her passing to UK press.

The Polish born temptress collapsed last week in London while on her way to attend a gathering of members of her international fan club, The Pitt of Horror.

Ingrid, who maintained a strong online presence, was best known for her seductive deathly persona in a string of Hammer Film classics like The Vampire Lovers and Countess Dracula.

Born Ingoushka Petrov in Poland, Pitt spent three years of her childhood in a Nazi concentration camp before making her name on the East Berlin stage in Germany before becoming a film star.

Her first big break was with Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton in Where Eagles Dare.

"She passed away this morning. It was heart trouble," Robin Pitt said.

"She had a couple of bad years, health-wise, but she had fought through.

"Anyone who knew my mother would say she was incredibly feisty and determined to make a good fist of everything she wanted to do."
