MARIE OSMOND has been tapped to replace ousted domestic diva MARTHA STEWART in her slot at the Hallmark Channel.
Show biz vet Marie Osmond will be toplining a new daily show replaced the recently axed “The Martha Stewart Show”.
“While we’re still in discussions with Marie, we’re extremely excited about the prospect of Marie Osmond joining the Hallmark family,” said a spokeswoman for Hallmark.
“We think she’s perfect for our brand and we’ll share more news when we have a deal.”
As The ENQUIRER recently reported not only was Martha’s show dropkicked but in an effort to spruce up her flailing image the domestic doyenne is considering million dollar makeover in an attempt to lure the youth market.
“Marie” will feature cooking segs, celeb sitdowns and typical chatty cathy fare.
The show preems in September.
Marie’s last big TV outing was as a contestant on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
Back in 2000, Marie hosted a daytime show that was canceled.
No word whether longtime partner brother Donny will drop by to see who’s a little bit country and a little bit rock’n’roll” but you can bet even money on THAT happening.
