GRAND OLE CARRIE U.
Twenty five year old Carrie Underwood is the latest addition to Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry.
Garth Brooks welcomed her with open arms – and a bronze statuette commemorating the occasion as Vince Gill joined her in a duet.
The former American idol champ was touched by the induction, saying a she brushed away the tears, “This is a great family to be part of.”
The Opry – the longest running radio show in history began in 1925 and such country legends as Patsy Cline, Hank Williams and the late Eddy Arnold were long time members.
Carrie's first album sold 7 million copies and her second produced two number one singles since emerging victorious on Idol.
