Four months after ending her five-year romance with toyboy lover, KATIE COURIC has learned he was cheating on her!
The TV news star, 55, was living with BROOKS PERLIN, a hunky former triathlete who’s 17 years her junior, while he carried on a sizzling secret affair with a younger woman, sources say.
“Katie had no idea until just recently that Brooks may have cheated on her with a woman who’s his age or even younger,” a close source told The ENQUIRER.
“She’s a redheaded beauty from Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Brooks apparently met her while working out, and it wasn’t a one-night stand. They allegedly had multiple hookups.”
At the time, financial analyst Brooks was still sharing Katie’s luxury Manhattan apartment with her and her daughters Ellie, 20, and Carrie, 16, the source said.
“Their relationship was nearing its end, but it was still going on,” the source revealed.
“Katie had no idea that she was being two-timed. In the end, she dumped Brooks in December because their lives were just in different places and there was no future for them as a couple.”
Still, the devastating lies and betrayal have given Katie a severe jolt, said the insider.
“It could have triggered a midlife crisis, but instead it’s given Katie the opportunity to re-evaluate her personal life and work out what’s important to her,” said the source.
“Katie has realized that she wants to concentrate on her career and her family. If another guy comes into her life, fine. But she’s said goodbye to toyboys.”
When contacted by The ENQUIRER about the cheating allegations, Katie’s spokesman Matthew Hiltzik confirmed: “She recently learned of this. But Katie doesn’t know what the real story is. It had nothing to do with why she and Brooks went their separate ways.”
With their failed romance behind her, the bubbly TV personality is focusing on launching her syndicated talk show “Katie” in the fall. She recently guest-hosted ABC’s “Good Morning America” and was spotted partying at the Big Apple night spot Top of the Standard after a premiere of the new HBO series “Girls.”
“Katie is doing just great,” her publicist Hiltzik added. “She’s been working hard but carving out time to spend with her daughters, her mom and good friends.”
“Katie has never looked hotter,” a close source said.”It’s only a matter of time before she finds a new man.”
