Oscar-nominated actor JONAH HILL has a killer career – but his Hollywood friends are worried the rotund actor is bulking up to a killer weight!
The chubby 31-year-old became a comedy star with roles in the “21 Jump Street” movies and as comic relief to Leonardo DiCaprio in “The Wolf of Wall Street.” But now Jonah is really packing on the pounds, with pals concerned that the film star will keel over like comic legend John Candy – the fat funnyman who died of a heart attack in 1994 at the age of 43.
“Jonah has a long career in front of him, much like John did – if he doesn’t die first,” an insider told The National ENQUIRER.
Jonah has hit an all-time high in his calorie counts and tips the scales at more than 320 pounds – with the big-screen star even requiring a high-capacity specialty scale to see how much he weighs, the friend reported.
Pals are also frustrated because Jonah’s weight has see-sawed the past few years. His “Moneyball” co-star, Brad Pitt, motivated the 5-foot-7 actor to shed 40 pounds from his then-250-pound frame.
But since “Superbad” Jonah’s dramatic makeover in 2011, he’s gained back all the original weight – plus a whole lot more!
Jonah knows he has a weight problem, and even noted the importance of his diet in a 2011 interview, saying: “I wanted to be healthier, and that was the impetus for wanting to lose weight – it’s just about being healthy and feeling good.”
But, his pal said: “The problem with Jonah is he has very little self-control with food.
“He doesn’t really have a favorite food, and he will eat anything if you put it in front of him.”
The source is also troubled that Jonah isn’t motivated to lose weight over romance.
“The fatter he gets, the more women seem to be attracted to him,” explained the source.
Jonah’s past relationships include beauties like Hollywood legend Dustin Hoffman’s daughter, Ali, and “House of Cards” actress Isabelle McNally – and he has recently been spotted with a sexy new mystery girl.
“He even dated a dietitian for a year and actually gained weight in the relationship,” complained the friend.
“If Jonah doesn’t start losing weight in the next couple of years, he very well could end up like John Candy – DEAD!”
