KIM Kardashian West is putting her life and marriage at risk with surgery to remove her ribs, horrified family friends exclusively told The National ENQUIRER.
The 34-year-old reality TV sexpot has flaunted her bizarre quirk of wearing a corset while working out to whittle her waist.
But Kim is unhappy with the results and hunting for a surgeon to perform the controversial procedure, insiders said. “It’s extreme surgery – and it’s illegal in the United States – but it does work,” a pal told The ENQUIRER. “Kim’s convinced it’s the only way to get the extreme hourglass shape she wants. She’ll probably have it done in Asia.”
The procedure, known as a costectomy, involves removing the twelfth, eleventh and sometimes the tenth rib to create a slimmer waist. Several celebrities, including Cher, Prince, Pamela Anderson and Raquel Welch, are rumored to have had the procedure.
Even the projected six-month recovery period hasn’t deterred the spotlight-hungry mom-of-one – although insiders added there’ll be hell to pay if hubby Kanye West finds out.
Kanye is deeply opposed to any form of plastic surgery since his mother, Donda, tragically died from complications from a procedure in 2007. She was only 58, and she “was only getting lipo,” an insider pointed out.
“Taking those ribs away leaves your organs, including the pancreas and liver, extremely vulnerable, which is why it’s hard to find a doctor who’ll do it!
“But all Kim cares about is getting the tiniest waist in Hollywood.” Kim recently flaunted her bare bottom on a magazine cover, and friends fear that her latest obsession may be life-threatening. “Everyone thinks she’s losing it,” explained the source. “She’s putting beauty over safety, but she doesn’t care.
“It’s an eternal quest for physical perfection, but Kim won’t be feeling so beautiful if she loses her hubby over this.”
