Dementia Fears for Barbara Walters

Pals fear retired TV newswoman Barbara Walters may be rapidly succumbing to senile dementia!

Friends and colleagues have noted Barbara, 85, is beginning to have memory lapses, The National ENQUIRER has learned.

“Barbara was supposed to go on ‘The View’ now that the new season has begun,” a source divulged.

“But network brass deep-sixed the idea – scared of what she’d say on live TV.”

Added another insider: “While Barbara has moments when she’s quite lucid, there are other times when she appears doddering and confused.”

We’ve also learned there have been some incidents that were cause for concern.

In February, before stepping down, Barbara defended the parenting “skills” of Woody Allen, who was accused by his adult daughter of sexually assaulting her as a child.

It ignited a blowup with co-hosts.

On Feb. 17, she proclaimed she owned a vibrator, adding, “You know what it’s called? A selfie!”

The first source disclosed: “That was the beginning of the end. “Many are wondering if Barbara’s head injury in a 2013 accident may have caused her troubles.”
