The midnight premier of The Dark Knight set a new box office record for witching hour debuts!
The new Batman epic scored $18.5 mil on 3,040 screens, according to Media By Numbers.
Not counting the 3 am and 6 am screenings (you sick, twisted Bat-maniacs) TDK numbers bested previous record-holder Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith, which Vader-ed at $16.9.
The best is yet to come.
