ARETHA RUSHED BACK TO ER AFTER FRIGHTENING COLLAPSE

description

In a bombshell new development in her heartbreaking battle with pancreatic cancer, ARETHA FRANKLIN collapsed after losing 80 pounds, had to be rushed to the hospital – and met with her minister to prepare for the end.

The 68-year-old Queen of Soul fell ill at her Bloomfield Hills, Mich., estate early on the morning of Dec. 21, The ENQUIRER has learned.

It was a heartbreaking medical setback for Aretha, who had been happy to be home after her recent surgery for pancreatic cancer.

"She collapsed in her bedroom while trying to get to her bathroom using a walker," a source close to the superstar singer told The ENQUIRER.

"Her battle with cancer and the surgery had really taken its toll on her, and she had lost some 80 pounds. She was weak and dehydrated.

"She felt faint and collapsed.

"Aretha cried out for help, and fortunately she wasn’t alone in the big house. Her aides summoned an ambulance, which raced her to a Detroit hospital."

Doctors at Sinai-Grace Hospital determined the beloved entertainer was suffering from dehydration – likely caused by her cancer surgery on Dec. 2, in which half her stomach was removed.

She was hooked up with several IVs to hydrate her and then discharged the next day.

Just one day after arriving home – and still struggling to adjust to her 80-pound weight loss – Aretha met with her pastor to prepare for the end of her life.
