UPDATE: Andrew Koenig, 41, took his own life, his father Walter Koening said in a press conference Thursday.
"My son took his own life," the former Star Trek actor said, choking back tears. "He was obviously in a lot of pain."
Andrew disappeared Feburay 14th and was believed to be in the Vancouver, Canada area.
The body was found in a park according to a police source who then informed Walter and his wife.
Vancouver police earlier confirmed a body was found in Stanley Park around noon Thursday, saying only it was "believed to be that of Andrew Koenig."
As The ENQUIRER reported previously (see below) the trouble actor had given his possessions away in Los Angeles before being sighted in the Vancouver area. He had been taking medication for depression but stopped treatment about a year ago.
Koenig played Richard "Boner" Stabone in 25 episodes of Growing Pains from 1985 to 1989.
