ACCUSED: TRAVOLTA TO BLAME IN DEATH

description

UPDATE: In the $25 million John Travolta extort trial, an ambulance driver believed he had the star over a barrel.

EMT ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne who responded to the Travolta house to aid stricken autistic son Jett wanted big bucks to keep embarrassing record secret, a witness testified yesterday.

Allyson Maynard Gibson
said in court she spoke with Sen. Pleasant Bridgewater, a former Travolta pal, who was repping Lightbourne.

"It was his view that either Travolta wanted his son dead or he was negligent," Gibson testified.

Both Lightbourne and Bridgewater have pleaded not guilty to the blackmail charges in the Nassau court.

Travolta then took the stand this morning,  explaining he never spoke to either of the defendants about the alleged extortion and that the information that there was a threat was relayed to him through his employee Ronald Zupancic.

A frail Travolta was asked to speak up by the judge as he spoke too softly for jurors to hear.

He testified he was told that if he didn’t pay $25 million the accused extortionists would release stories to the media implying that John’s negligence or indifference was to  blame for Jett’s death.

Both defendants have pleaded not guilty to the blackmail charges in the Nassau court.  SEE PREVIOUS REPORTAGE BELOW:
