Meredith Vieira has ignited an allout war behind the scenes of the “Today” show!
As the morning show’s ratings fall, Meredith – who replaced Katie Couric just last September – has gone on the offensive and is readying a secret report for her bosses, say sources.
Fellow cast members are infuriated because the newcomer plans to tell top executives how veterans Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Ann Curry can do their jobs better!
“Matt and Al are enraged that Meredith – after only a few months on the job – thinks she knows better than they do,” revealed a set source.
The former “View” star “is making a preemptive strike so fi ngers don’t point at her for the drop in the numbers,” explained an insider.
In the February ratings sweeps, the show lost a whopping eight percent in total viewers over the month.
And industry trackers note that viewership has slipped since Katie left the program.
