Barbara Walters said on The View Monday that she received a call from Britney Spears' pal Sam Lufti hoping to set the record straight about the pop wreck. "She has been to a psychiatrist," Walters said Lufti told her. "She, I assume, is starting some kind of treatment."

Walters referred to Britney's recent bizarre behavior as being due to "mental issues which are treatable."

Walters also revealed that Britney has been in touch with her estranged mom, Lynne Spears, who was spotted at LAX airport in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
