The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively that John Edwards‘ cancer-stricken wife Elizabeth threw out her cheating husband after he admitted his extramarital affair on national TV!
Now those close to brave Elizabeth are pushing her to reveal the secret split in her new book Resilience: Reflections on the Burdens and Gifts of Facing Life’s Adversities, say sources.
"The new book is Elizabeth’s opportunity to admit that she did what any other wife and mother in America would have done – she did not accept her husband’s philandering, and she tossed him out," said a close source.
"Friends have told Elizabeth that she should come clean with the devastating details – but regardless of the details she gives, it’ll be clear that this woman supported her husband on the campaign trail when she was seriously ill, only to learn that she was betrayed at her weakest moment."
Back in July 2008 The ENQUIRER blew the lid off John Edwards’ affair with blonde divorcee Rielle Hunter and the birth of their love child. The disgraced former presidential candidate was forced to publicly admit to the affair during an interview on ABC’s Nightline and still continues to deny that Hunter’s baby is his.
John, 55, had told Elizabeth that his relationship with Rielle had ended more than a year prior – and she was more than livid when she learned that he was still meeting Rielle behind her back.
"Elizabeth was so angry she wanted him out of their house," revealed the source.
