A sea lion snatched a young girl from a Canadian pier — and dragged her down into the water!
The frightening incident took place at Steveston Fisherman’s Wharf in British Columbia, a popular spot for tourists.
Visitors watched as the sea lion bobbed up and down from beneath the water, soon approaching the edge where sightseers were tossing food from the pier for the animal to eat.
A young female tourist with her family tried get a better look at the mammal — sitting and leaning by the edge.
Suddenly, the sea lion rose up from the water and grabbed the girl by her dress and pulled her down into the wharf!
A man standing nearby, believed to be a relative, immediately jumped into the water to save her!
Other tourists watched in stunned horror as the man rescued her from the overanxious animal — lifting her up out of the water where her family pulled her back to safety onto the pier.
“I was just sitting by the dock and then this sea lion popped its head out of the water just in front of me. I just took out my cell phone and started filming,” said bystander Michael Fujiwara.
“She and her family, I guess, they came, they started feeding the animal bread crumbs or whatever it was, and then I guess the animal got a little too comfortable.”
The visibly-shaken girl was then led away from the area by her family.
