In this video above, a suspected terrorist hijacked a truck and drove it through a crowded Stockholm shopping plaza — straight into a department store!
As seen in this foreign TV broadcast, surveillance footage from a nearby store captured the vehicle speeding within the Queen Street shopping district, as terrified pedestrians ran for cover inside of stores trying to avoid being hit!
The attack left three dead at the scene, and a fourth at a local hospital, while 15 people were injured. Eight of the victims still remain in the hospital.
A dog was also killed.
“It swerved from side to side. It didn’t look out of control, it was trying to hit people,” said a witness.
The truck was stolen from a Swedish brewing company that was making deliveries in the area. It ended up going the front of the Ahlens department store at Drottninggatan in central Stockholm.
The city was put on lockdown as police searched throughout the city in pursuit of the driver.
“One person has been arrested on suspicion of terrorist crimes through murder,” said press spokesperson Karin Rosander.
A second suspect has also been detained.
The attack comes less than two months after President Donald Trump remarked that immigration had led to rising crime in Sweden.
