The infamous D.C. Sniper’s life sentence has been thrown out!

A federal judge overturned the sentence of Lee Boyd Malvo, one of two people convicted along with John Allen Muhammad, in the sniper attacks along the Washington D.C.-area Beltway almost 15 years ago!

Malvo had been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murders of ten people over a three week period in 2002 from a modified trunk of a Chevrolet.

The pair used a rifle to shoot thirteen people.

He appealed the ruling, claiming he was only 17 years old at the time of the murders and should not have been sentenced to life without parole.

He citied the Supreme Court ruling in the “Miller v. Alabama” case to back his claims, which persuaded Judge Raymond Jackson to overturn his sentence.

“Juveniles have diminished culpability and greater prospects for reform,” ruled Jackson, “which makes them less deserving of the most severe punishments.”

Malvo will receive his new sentence through a Circuit Court.
