Some therapy might be a big waste of time!

That’s the refreshing point of view from psychotherapist Jonathan Alpert — who believes that some shrinks need to wrap up their treatment if it’s clearly not working.

“Sometimes old-school analysis is not helpful and even counter-productive,” according to the author of “Be Fearless: Change Your Life In 28 Days.”

“If you’re having difficulty in bed, anxious, or having work issues, you don’t need to spend a year on a couch talking about your potty-training days.”

Alpert recommends a more results-oriented approach.

“Rather than dwell on the past, I encourage patients to find the courage to confront an adversary, take risks, and embrace change with a smart strategy.

“My aim is to teach patients the skills needed to confront their fear and make healthy changes in their lives, rather than to simply nod my head and ask how they feel.”
