Elizabeth Smart’s Copycat Kidnap Fears!

Still traumatized by her harrowing kidnap ordeal, ELIZABETH SMART has vowed her baby girl will never face the same horrors, The National ENQUIRER has learned.

Elizabeth was just 14 when a crazed homeless street preacher and his wife snatched her from her family’s home in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2002.

She suffered horrific sexual abuse at their hands before finally being rescued nine months later.

Since then, she founded the Elizabeth Smart Foundation to help youthful victims of sexual crimes and fight human trafficking.

But gutsy Elizabeth jealously guards her private life, and left it to her father to reveal in late May she’d given birth to daughter Chloe, by husband Matthew Gilmour.

A source revealed: “Elizabeth doesn’t want to be seen as a victim, and she has a ‘never again’ attitude that extends to her family."

Her abductors, Brian David Mitchell and Wanda Barzee, are now behind bars.

Mitchell is serving a life sentence without parole.

Barzee was slapped with a 15-year federal sentence that ends in 2025, but still faces a Utah state sentence that will likely keep her behind bars much longer.

But all that is cold comfort to Elizabeth, a friend said. “Through her foundation, Elizabeth knows the level of predators out there,” the friend added.

“Her number one goal is to keep her family safe. You could see it as over-protective, but that’s not how Elizabeth sees her life with her new baby.”
