“Whitey” Bulger, the notorious Boston gangster played by Johnny Depp in a major motion picture, was murdered in a West Virginia prison shortly after being transferred from a Florida prison — where he had been whining about guards putting him through “sleep deprivation!” The body of Bulger, convicted in 2013 of roles in 11 different murders, was found on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the high-security prison USP Hazelton — reportedly beaten to death with a “lock in a sock” by men with mob connections.
Bulger was listed as having been transferred there on the same day. Bulger, 89, had previously been moved to a maximum-security prison in Sumterville, Fla., after he was caught getting special privileges by a female prison shrink. The legendary tough guy was writing outraged letters about how he’d been treated. In a letter exclusively obtained by The National ENQUIRER, the once-feared gang boss alleged he was subjected by guards in Massachusetts to “a form of torture…called sleep deprivation…”

“No one could talk to me, nor I to anyone — for the first four months,” Bulger griped, adding: “[I was] strip-searched FIVE times a day.” The violent goon mockingly labeled the behavior of Massachusetts guards for providing “special treatment,” and accused his jailers of triggering a 2012 heart attack that nearly killed him. “[I was] rushed 40 miles to Boston Hospital, almost died. Had a team of cardiologists bring me back,” he declared.

The former head of Beantown’s Winter Hill Gang topped the FBI’s Most Wanted list for the 16 years he was on the lam until his 2011 arrest in Santa Monica, Calif. The convict (seen here at Alcatraz in 1959) insisted he “came in [to prison] a picture of health,” but said his well-being was wrecked by his incarceration as he “fell out of bed 14 times onto concrete floor, hurt left hip each time.” But his most recent prison transfer turned out to be a death sentence!
