Late last month, the 65-year-old actor was busted for sneaking up behind an actress he was working with on a Waltham, Mass., production of the musical 42nd Street — and grossly grabbing her butt. Another gal claims that in rehearsals, twisted Tom came up from behind, grabbed her around the waist and pulled her close in a sexual way.

Tom’s alarmed pal urged the actor to “go into rehab” because “heavy cocaine use, especially for someone at his age, could be a killer!” Ultimately, the actor realized his behavior was over the top and he needed help. “Tom definitely understands that sobriety is the sole course for a successful future and will take immediate steps to achieve it,” his rep says. An understudy has taken Tom’s role in the musical.
