Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are wrapping up their 40th anniversary tour with three September shows at the Hollywood Bowl — but the longtime frontman looked frighteningly frail while getting ready with a trip to a doctor in Los Angeles.

"We're all on the backside of our 60s," Tom told Rolling Stone magazine in November, as the band began rehearsing for the series of concerts that started in April. (He's seen here at an August 17, 2017, show.)
