Ted Cruz’s mistress scandal isn’t the first time his secrets have been in the spotlight. RadarOnline.com takes a look at his top ten secrets and scandals.
This week, The National ENQUIRER released the bombshell report claiming that “private detectives are digging into at least five affairs Ted Cruz supposedly had.” According to The ENQUIRER, the lineup of alleged mistresses includes a hot young political consultant and even a high-ranking D.C.-based attorney! Cruz has called the report, "garbage, complete and utter lies."
Speaking of Heidi, as Radar reported, on August 22, 2005, Austin cops reported that a passerby claimed to have seen Heidi sitting “with her head in her hands” on the grass near an expressway. The officer said in a report, “I believed that she was a danger to herself.” Ted’s campaign claimed that Heidi, 43, “experienced a brief bout of depression
On March 15, a video posted by an individual purporting to be a representative of Anonymous
threatened that the hacker group could release information about Cruz’s “very dirty secrets,” including potentially “prostitutes,” if he did not suspend his campaign within 24 hours. He did not, and no information was released.
As Radar reported, Cruz’s sister Miriam was arrested for public drunkenness, drug possession and theft before she died of an overdose in 2011.
Cruz was ticketed for possession of alcohol as a minor in 1987, a mistake he called “foolish.”
Before that, in February, Cruz apologized to Ben Carson after his campaign sent emails to supporters spreading false rumors that Carson had dropped out of the race.
In early 2016, some critics claimed Cruz could not be president because he was born in Canada. But since his mother is an American, the board of elections found in February that Cruz is a “natural born citizen,” and eligible to hold the country’s highest office.
