“Though Selena is telling everyone — including herself — that it doesn’t bother her,” said psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman, M.D., “of course it does. Not only is this causing her emotional breakdown, it’s causing her physical condition to flare up because the mind influences the body.”

While neither doctor has treated Selena, Dr. Lieberman added that DBT can only do so much: “It’s not likely to break through her denial about Justin, nor will it get to the deeper issues that caused this relationship to keep boomeranging and hurting her!”
