Alexander Polinksky, who began his career as a kiddie star on Baio's hit sitcom, first went public through social media — asking the public to help him contact his former costar. "For 30 years," wrote Alexander, "I’ve held in the embarrassment and shame of being abused daily on the set of 'Charles in Charge.' I had to watch other children be abused, as well."

In his first response to the internet posts, Scott Baio provided an exclusive statement to The National ENQUIRER: “Unfortunately, I have no idea what incident or incidents Alexander may be describing. I am told by my advisers that the only appropriate venue for reporting these crimes is a special bureau set up by the Los Angeles police department, and we will be in touch with them shortly to share this article. I urge Alexander to contact them directly, as they investigate many such circumstances quickly and with sensitivity.”

Nicole Eggert — at right, with Alex and "Charles in Charge" castmates Josie Davis and Justin Whalin — quickly showed her support for Alexander. While Alexander hasn't named Baio as his abuser, another person asked Nicole via social media: "Nicole, why haven't you spoken out if Scott Baio abused you, too?" In a Tweet that she later deleted, Nicole replied: "Oh, I have!"

Nicole, who was once engaged to doomed star
Corey Haim, has previously claimed that she lost her virginity to Baio at the age of 17 — but bitterly added: "Yeah, there was some flirting. Yeah, there was some messing around when I was, like, 16. And don't forget, he was in his 20s!"

Alexander, meanwhile, hasn't named anyone behind the "physical, mental, verbal & sexual abuse" that he allegedly "suffered and witnessed on the set." He recently added, however, that his "abuser thought he was above the law, above morality and beyond judgment" — and said: "F--k the pedos, the abusers and the sleazy womanizers!"
