Ryan O'Neal is spending his final days in a lonely battle against leukemia — unable to even get his troubled son Redmond out of jail as the drug addict faces charges of attempted murder!

In an exclusive jailhouse interview, Redmond told The National ENQUIRER that he'd talked to Ryan on the phone, saying: “I asked my dad to get me bail, and he said OK. But they’re not allowing me bail at the moment.” Now, said a source, Redmond “thinks his dad could die while he is behind bars” — just like when his mother Farrah Fawcett passed away in 2009!

Ryan, 77, has reportedly wasted away to 135 pounds, and is currently alone at home and nursing his own regrets over his troubled years with Redmond and his volatile romance with Farrah. “His only friend is Farrah’s old pal Alana Stewart,” said the insider. “He frequently breaks down crying [and] admits to treating Farrah terribly.”

With his troubled son behind bars, Ryan's only regular visitors are the nurses who come by his Malibu home. That also leaves Redmond on his own while awaiting bail. Ryan, said the source, is just “too weak to visit Redmond in jail.”
