Rosie O’Donnell is rehashing details from her brutal childhood! In a new book titled Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of The View, the actress revealed she was sexually abused by her father when she was a child.

Speaking about her father’s abuse, she added, “And then when my mother died, it sort of ended in a weird way, because then he was with these five children to take care of. On the whole, it’s not something I like to talk about.”

Rosie continued, “Of course, it changes everyone. Any child who is put in that position, especially by someone in the family, you feel completely powerless and stuck, because the person you would tell is the person doing it."

Her father died in 2015, and while this is the first she’s speaking of his troubling behavior, Rosie has been an advocate for sexual abuse victims for years.

Specifically, she’s spoken out against sexual predators Bill Cosby and Roman Polanski, and was on Dylan Farrow’s side when she accused her father, Woody Allen, of sexually assaulting her as a child.
“I’m very anti-Roman Polanski and anti-Woody Allen,” Rosie admits in the book. “It’s a pretty clear line for me.”
