Rosie O’Donnell has confirmed RADAR Online’s scoop that she’s engaged to younger woman Elizabeth Rooney — but is still keeping some secrets about her wedding date. The caustic comic told People that the actual ceremony “is a long time in the future,” and added: “It’s been a long-distance thing.” Insiders, however, told The National ENQUIRER that’s because the cop from Massachusetts is more interested in keeping her job than moving in with her new love. “Elizabeth is committed to being a police officer,” claimed a source close to the 33-year-old beauty. “She’s not going anywhere.” But, the source added, Elizabeth has already been introduced to Rosie’s five children from the comedy diva’s previous marriages. “Elizabeth’s met her kids, and Rosie’s met her grandmother,” said the insider. “But Elizabeth is not a celebrity, and wants to keep things quiet and normal!”

Elizabeth has been mistaken for her formerly-estranged daughter! “A lot of people say, ‘Oh my god, Chelsea looks so great.’ I’m like, ‘That’s not Chelsea.’ That’s my soon-to-be spouse!” But how soon, said the insider, is “hard to say. Elizabeth has a lot to figure out!”
