Regis Philbin Press Conference
Regis Philbin has finally gone public with his heartbreaking snubs from former “Live” co-host Kelly Ripa — admitting to Larry King that Kelly won't get in touch! "She got very offended when I left," said Regis, acknowledging the breakup. "She thought I was leaving because of her!" Regis insists, though, that he only left "Live" because the show "didn't feel right" anymore, with The National ENQUIRER revealing his pleas to return!

According to insiders, Kelly didn't just resent Regis for leaving. She also wasn't happy being stuck with Michael Strahan as a co-host. “They were locked in a secret bitter feud from the start,” an insider told The ENQUIRER. But while Michael's bolted from "Live" for a troubled new gig at "Good Morning America," Regis hasn't even show up as a guest host!

Said a close pal: “Reege would be thrilled to rejoin the show, as he never really wanted to leave in the first place. Whatever it was, he’s very, very sorry!"

Regis admitted in 2015 that he hadn't seen Kelly since leaving "Live" in 2011, with his pal saying: “He is as loyal as a Labrador, and it really hurt him that Kelly didn’t want much of anything to do with him after he left. Regis thought they would be friends forever.”

Friends are also concerned that Regis' health will soon interfere with any hopes for one more turn on "Live" — with the beloved TV personality suffering from a series of medical ailments. Those include a triple bypass in 2007, a hip replacement in 2009 and the removal of a blood clot in May 2010. He’s also battled high cholesterol and blood pressure, and has been treated for skin cancer and kidney stones. In 2013, he had stents put in his arteries to treat peripheral heart disease.

Regis has still rallied to join his former "Live" co-host Kathie Lee Gifford on the fourth hour of NBC’s “Today,” where he's frequently guested with Kathie and Hoda Kotbe. Now, with his wife Joy’s blessing, he’s ready to reunite with Kelly in front of the cameras — or even in private. “The ball is in Kelly’s court,” said the source. “She can embrace Reege back with open arms, or continue to give him the cold shoulder.”
