Regis Philbin is horrifying friends with an apparently failing mind — with the beloved TV legend even forgetting some of his greatest moments! Pals told
The National ENQUIRER that Regis' mind is so ravaged that he even recently blasted his former ”Live!” sidekick
Kelly Ripa for snubbing him – even though she hadn’t! And now he's been caught on video forgetting that he helped launch the hit show "America's Got Talent" in 2006.
Friends first became concerned when Regis ignited a showbiz feud over his increasingly poor memory — blasting Kelly Ripa during an interview with fellow star
Larry King. “
Never once did they ask me to go back,” he griped, who asked if he’d been back on “Live! with Kelly” since he quit the show in 2011. Regis even claimed that Kelly hadn’t spoken to him for years because she was “very offended when I left.”
Shockingly, Regis forgot he appeared on the morning chat show, which he’d hosted for 28 years, as recently as Oct. 28, 2015! The episode also showed Kelly warmly hugging Regis and then inviting him over to her house to see her kids. “Poor Regis,” says an insider. “He’s had terrible memory problems lately. His friends are convinced he’s suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or senile dementia. I really believe he’s on his last legs!”

Dave Davis, president of WABC, which produces “Live!” with Kelly, added that Reege has “been invited back several times” since the Halloween episode — only to confirm a date and then cancel. New York internist Dr. Stuart Fischer, who hasn’t treated the star, says the Kelly blooper could be an “early sign of Alzheimer’s” and “the beginning signs of vascular dementia.” And in a tragic new twist, Reege can't even remember all his past glories!
Cameras caught Regis being asked to comment about the next host of "America's Got Talent" — but the star became confused when told that he was the original host! “I don’t remember it, honest to God,” he said outside Los Angeles International Airport, still flashing his signature smile. But after his wife Joy reassured him that he hosted the show “a long time ago,” Regis was ready for another take, saying to the camera: “I’m Regis Philbin. I started that show a long time ago, and I wish that new guy good luck!“
