The ENQUIRER found traces of several highly addictive substances at eh world-famous palace after it opened to the public for its annual summer tour, with attracts up to 500,000 visitors.

Cocaine residue was found in the the plush toilet on the ground floor of the palace — as well as in the lavatories on the residence's grounds. In the ground-floor bathroom, near the Grand Staircase, our investigators also found evidence of the drug methadone, which is used to wean junkies off heroin.

When ENQUIRER investigators rubbed a toilet lid with a drug-testing swab that's normally white, the swab instantly turned blue, indicating the drug's presence. Swabs also turned blue within seconds of sweeping the surfaces of a table, sink and the tops of chrome toilet-roll holders.

The swab also had dark-blue spots — indicating crack cocaine had been used there. Our drug kit analysis also showed evidence of a range of psychedelic drugs, including PCP — commonly known as "angel dust" — which can send users in to an uncontrollable rage.

The evidence raises questions over the effectiveness of security at the palace, which is patrolled by armed officers and uniformed civilian staff. When our investigators visited the estate, they were not frisked at the entrance or exit and only one cop talking to guests at the residence's doors.

The maximum penalty for supplying cocaine in Britain is life imprisonment, with a jail sentence of up to seven years for possession of the drug. Possession of many psychedelic substances carries a potential jail term of five years in the U.K.
