A frail looking Phil Collins walking with an aid of a walking stick as he arrived at BBC Radio Two studios to promote his new album – London
The National ENQUIRER caught Phil Collins shocking bystanders by arriving in London to promote new CD reissues of his classic albums — while having to rely on a cane! The rock legend is beloved by millions for his hits with Genesis, along with major solo smashes like "In The Air Tonight" and his remake of "You Can't Hurry Love." But now the 64-year-old singer/songwriter (who got his big break as Genesis' drummer) is trying to recover from a medical emergency last October, when he awoke to find that he couldn't even move his right foot!

LONDON, ENGLAND – JANUARY 26: Phil Collins seen with a walking stick at BBC Radio 2 he has come out of retirement and is releasing a new album this Friday on January 26, 2016 in London, England.
"I had an MRI," said Phil, "and my back and hips were just shot. The doctor had to go in there, work on the sciatic nerve, and take my back apart and unscramble the mess!" Phil had already admitted that the Genesis reunion tour in 2007 had left him in very bad shape, with doctors diagnosing him with a dislocated vertebra in his neck. That resulted in further nerve damage to his hands. Over the years, however, Phil had talked about how his physicians expected that he would one day be able to return to the instrument that first made him a star.

LONDON, ENGLAND – JANUARY 26: Phil Collins seen with a walking stick at BBC Radio 2 he has come out of retirement and is releasing a new album this Friday on January 26, 2016 in London, England.
The original plan was for Phil to promote the repackaging of his older albums in November of last year. Instead, his record company announced that the promotional campaign was pushed back to January after Phil required the emergency back surgery. "I am so disappointed to have to delay the release,” Phil said at the time, “but am looking forward to being able to properly get behind this release in the new year when I can move again!" Now he's on the move — but obviously not having an easy time of it!
