In an explosive lawsuit, the actress’ son Kyle Johnson claims his mom is being used as a cash cow by hangers-on preying on her dementia. But her longtime manager Gilbert Bell claims former actor Kyle (left, in 1969's "The Learning Tree") is trying to lock away his mom in a nursing home so he can get his hands on her money and sell off her property!

“Kyle has been trying to put her in a nursing home for eight years now,” Bell told a source for
The National ENQUIRER. “He wants to put her away and sell her home.” Bell said the actress has always been fearful of being trapped in a nursing home.

“Nichelle made me promise many years ago, ‘Whatever you do, please don’t put me in a nursing home!’” he insists. “And I told her I wouldn’t. Besides, she’s not ready for a nursing home! She’s the original Energizer Bunny and still is busy as a bee!”

On May 5, the still-stunning actress was honored at the Music Through the Decades Gala in Temecula, Calif., a charity event for children with autism. Said Bell: “Nichelle may have slowed down a little but she still has a packed schedule!”

Bell insisted Nichelle’s son “doesn’t have two nickels to rub together” and is after her fortune. “He lives somewhere in New Mexico. He has never shown up for Mother’s Day, hasn’t called his mom on her birthday,” Bell claimed. “That’s not a loving, caring son!

A source close to Nichelle told The ENQUIRER that, while she “has relied upon other people to take care of things for her, she is not infirm. Nichelle still loves going out to meet her fans at conventions and tell them stories about her time on 'Star Trek,' and she wants to continue to do that as long as she can!”
