Eyewitnesses in Los Angeles were shocked to see beloved star
Morgan Freeman being helped out of a Hollywood hotspot — as the 79-year-old actor appeared dazed and barely conscious. The "Driving Miss Daisy" star has had a series of health problems, and was still wearing the glove that he needs after injuries from a car crash in 2008. But he won't quit working despite friends hoping he'll retire!

Morgan severely damaged his left arm in the devastating car crash and lives in constant pain. "Morgan has some serious health issues, and it can be agony for him just to get through a working day on the set," a friend said — and even the Oscar-winner admits that he's in endless misery.

Freeman broke his arm, shoulder and elbow in the crash. Despite surgery to repair nerve damage, he lost virtually all use of his left hand, and wears the compression glove most of the time to keep blood from pooling. "He tries to hide the pain that shoots up his arm, but you can see him grimacing," said the friend.
