“The news kept saying ‘black SUV’ so I wasn’t looking for a Malibu or sedan. I kept my eye out for an SUV,” a resident who lived near Rivera told The ENQUIRER. “If cops had said a Malibu, there would’ve been dozens of reports from the first week.”

Renowned private investigator Paul Huebl told The ENQUIRER the error was “absolutely sinful” and would have “help[ed] them solve the case quicker!” Mollie, 20, disappeared on July 18, but a search by local law enforcement and the FBI dragged on for a month before Rivera was caught.
