Police conducted a series of raids through Manchester yesterday in search of Salman Abedi's possible accomplices. Three men were arrested in Manchester, in addition to one of Abedi's brothers, who had been arrested the morning after the bombing. Abedi's father, however, insists that his son wasn't responsible for the attack, and had no ties to Islamic terrorists.
"We don't believe in killing innocents," Ramadan Abedi told a reporter in a phone call from Tripoli. "This is not us." He added that he had spoken to Salman just days before the horrific attack, and that his son seemed "normal." He confirmed that his other son Ismail had been arrested, and said that Salman had been making plans to fly to Libya to join his family for the holy month of Ramadan.

But a friend of the Abedi family — speaking to the
New York Times on condition of anonymity — insisted that Salman's parents were worried by their son's increasing support for terrorism in the name of Islam. The insider added that the concerned parents had even
taken away their son's passport while he was visiting away from England. They only returned it when Salman lied to them, and flew back to Manchester instead of taking a trip to Mecca.

Authorities also confirmed that Salman Abedi was a "known wolf" — having been reported to police earlier by concerned citizens. Some members of Abedi's own mosque even reportedly went to the authorities over concerns about his fanaticism — with many sources at his house of worship referring to him as "angry."
