Guy Ritchie seems deep in thought on the day of his custody battle with Madonna.
Meanwhile, a London judge said today he hopes
Madonna and her ex will come to an “amicable resolution” of their custody battle — echoing the words of a New York judge a day earlier. Guy, 47, actually appeared in court for a preliminary hearing because Madonna filed kidnapping charges against him last year after their 15-year-old son decided to live with him and Guy refused to obey a U.S. court order to return the minor to
his mother, who has legal custody.

“It is highly unfortunate and deeply regrettable, as Judge Kaplan said, that this family dispute is being dealt with in front of her and in front of me, through the agencies of highly capable lawyers,” Justice Alistair MacDonald of the Family Division of the High Court said. “It is hoped further discussions between the parties can reach an amicable settlement.” If not, a trial date of June 1 in Manhattan looms.
