Dr. Fischer, who has not treated the 65-year-old “Taken” star, observed to The National ENQUIRER that the Northern Ireland-born tough-guy actor has shed at least 50 pounds from his once-hulking 6-foot-4 frame. A barely recognizable Liam shocked onlookers at a June 5 event in New York. According to a spywitness, there were whispers the “Rob Roy” star had contracted a disease — possibly cancer — and was close to collapse!

“Liam has had serious health issues in the past, but he’s never looked so close to the final curtain,” a source spilled. “We can only pray he takes a turn for the better.” The “Love Actually” star was hospitalized with diverticulitis in the late 1980s and had 40 percent of his colon removed. In 1996, he underwent surgery for an intestinal blockage, and in 2000 he broke his pelvis in a motorcycle accident.

His reps continue to insist he is cancer free, but his appearance tells a startlingly different story. “This kind of weight loss is indicative of a metabolic disease,” said Dr. Fischer. “If it is cancer, the malignant cells devour all the nutrition, making it impossible to keep the weight on.” The health rumors spread after Liam announced he’d like to retire soon. “Maybe two more years — if God spares me and I’m healthy,” he said in an interview.

But experts believe the “Schindler’s List” star may not even have that long if he doesn’t seek immediate help. “He needs to undergo multiple blood tests and radiological studies,” warned Dr. Fischer. “His fans and friends should be seriously concerned.”
