Jerry Lewis Still In Hospital — His Sad Final Days

Jerry Lewis continues to fight back from his urinary tract infection — but the sudden illness could cost the comedy legend a chance to make one last film!

The beloved comic has been hospitalized since June 3 in Las Vegas — and his wife Sam has confirmed that he's staying under the hospital's care even while entering rehabilitation for the infection.

"He is off antibiotics," she said, "but we don’t want him home until he is strong enough to be at the house." The new therapy is supposed to help Jerry regain his swallowing reflexes — but while that's a common affliction for the elderly, Jerry was struck down in the midst of a career comeback.

Having gone out in 2016 to promote his film "Max Rose," the comic was set to shoot a new movie in Canada later this month. That shoot has now been canceled, with Sam saying: "I don’t want him to leave as long as they are still working with him."
