In her bombshell legal petition, “The Voice” coach accused her estranged baby daddy, wrestler David Otunga, of “increasing aggressive, threatening and harassing behavior.” Close sources told The National ENQUIRER, however, that Jennifer's troubling claims were spurred over fears for their eight-year-old son, David Jr. — because she can’t stop reliving the horror of when her brother-in-law slaughtered her beloved family members in 2008!

“She’s still haunted by what happened,” a source revealed, “and her baby means absolutely everything to her. It’s natural she’s overly protective of David Jr. Nobody can blame her for wanting to keep him safe.” The songbird alleged that her estranged fiancé removed David Jr. from school without her consent on Nov. 10. “I am concerned and fearful that David may remove David Jr. from the state without notifying me,” according to her petition, filed in Illinois’ Cook County on Nov. 16, 2017.

“As recently as Nov. 15, 2017,” the documents added, “David threatened to take David Jr. out of my physical possession.” While the child spent Thanksgiving with David, Jennifer was granted temporary physical care and possession of her son. Despite that, David’s lawyer vowed to fight to regain his parental rights, claiming Jennifer’s travel schedule isn’t suitable for raising a child.

“She is everywhere but at home with her son,” charged attorney Tracy Rizzo. “Jennifer uses her family and assistants to watch over David Jr. when she is gone.” Although she failed to win season three of “American Idol,” Jennifer's career took off with an Oscar win for her film debut in the 2006 musical "Dreamgirls." Then her mother, Darnell Donerson, was found dead in her Chicago home, along with Jennifer's brother Jason and her older sister Julia.

The sickening crime would lead to a manhunt for Julia’s estranged husband, William Balfour. The search ended in tragedy when police tracked down Balfour, only to find that he had killed 7-year-old Julian. Balfour was sentenced to three life terms on murder charges. “Jennifer’s already lost the most important members of her family,” a source declared. “She’s not going to let her son out of her sight!”
