The New York Post reported that a judge in Manhattan Supreme Court abruptly declared the couple's divorce case to be "discontinued" — after one of Huma's lawyers presented an agreement signed by both Huma and Weiner. She had originally filed the divorce papers on the same day that her disgraced husband admitted in court to transferring obscene material to a minor. He began his two-year prison sentence at a Massachusetts prison in Nov. 2017.

Shocked detectives investigating charges against Weiner earlier discovered State Department documents on the same unsecured laptop used by her husband to send nude photos to the underage victim. In Dec. 2017, the State Department released files proving that at least five of those documents were officially "classified." The next week, the Department of Justice announced it was reopening an investigation into Hillary’s use of a private email server as Secretary of State.

The Post report immediately had some D.C. insiders speculating that Huma and Weiner had the case dismissed so they could stay married — and avoid testifying against each other in court by invoking "spousal privilege!" Said one insider: "They could still say that they're staying together for the sake of their son, but only because they both can't be raising him from prison!"

But now Huma's attorney, Charles Miller, is insisting that the couple is still heading for a split. "In order to ensure the proceedings have a minimal impact on their child," said Miller in a statement, "the parties have decided to finalize their divorce swiftly and privately."
