Harrison Ford & Daughter Georgia Out For Lunch In NYC
Sometimes, even Indiana Jones has trouble hailing a cab in the urban jungle that is New York City! Harrison Ford took his daughter, Georgia, out for lunch yesterday and then had to try to attract the attention of a hack when none of them seemed to recognize one of the most bankable movie stars on the planet! But he’s also a caring father: Harrison recently revealed that Georgia, 25, suffers from epilepsy while making an emotional appeal for help finding a cure.

The Oscar-nominated actor and father of five thanked the New York University Langone Medical Center’s Find a Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures (FACES) project for helping his only daughter. “She is joining me to thank FACES,” Harrison, who is also a licensed pilot, told the “Daily News.” “I admire a lot of things about her. I admire her perseverance, her talent, her strength. She’s my hero. I love her.”

Harrison said Dr. Orrin Devinsky and FACES “have been a great service to my family. I am grateful for that, so, I’m happy to be here. When you have a loved one who suffers from this disease, it can be devastating. You know how it affects their lives, their future, their opportunities and you want desperately to find mitigation. You want to find a way that they can live a comfortable and effective life.”

“A few years later she had another big one, this one on a beach in Malibu, where a Hollywood director found her, luckily,” Harrison recalled. “I said to myself, ‘This is Los Angeles, we have some of the best doctors in the world, they must know what’s wrong with her.’ But nothing was diagnosed as epilepsy.”

The man also known as Han Solo — and still in theaters with “Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens" — said that after his daughter had another big seizure while studying in London, the family turned to NYU. “Dr. Orrin Devinsky, who is a dear friend, made the diagnosis: epilepsy,” Harrison said, fighting back tears. “He prescribed the right medication and therapy; she has not had a seizure in eight years.”
