Zimmerman-Apperson trial
George Zimmerman was brutally beaten in a Florida restaurant — after a man accused him of bragging about his role in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in 2012! Zimmerman called the cops and said he was ordering at the Gators Riverside Grille on August 31, 2016, when he stopped at a table to compliment a man's tattoo of the Confederate flag. The police report has Zimmerman reporting that the man recognized him — and then another patron walked up and asked: "You're bragging about that?"

George Zimmerman Found Not Guilty In Death Of Trayvon Martin
Zimmerman told police that he denied he was "bragging" — but his alleged assailant wasn't convinced. Instead, said Zimmerman, in his 911 call: “This man just punched me in the face.” The man is still being sought by the local Sheriff's office, but there are conflicting claims by other eyewitnesses. One patron told police that “Zimmerman came to his table and proceeded to brag about how he was the one who killed Trayvon Martin."

Restaurant owner Ed Winters, however, said the incident at Grille was really more of shoving match. He also claimed that the altercation started when Zimmerman (seen here signing autographs at a gun shop) approached the stranger and complained that the Confederate flag tattoos are racist.

Closing Arguments Held In Zimmerman Trial
The incident is just the latest bizarre case in the aftermath of Zimmerman being acquitted for the death of Trayvon, with a jury ruling that he'd been acting in self-defense when he shot the teen in Sanford, Fla. A man named Matthew Apperson was later accused of shooting at Zimmerman in May 2015, with a police report stating: "It appears that Apperson has a fixation on Zimmerman and has displayed signs of paranoia, anxiety and bipolar disorder." George Zimmerman, the acquitted shooter in the death of Trayvon Martin, faces a Seminole circuit judge, Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, in Sanford, Fla. during a first-appearance hearing on charges including aggravated assault stemming from a fight with his girlfriend. The National ENQUIRER had also obtained shocking court documents showing Zimmerman has a long history of violence, including domestic disputes with a former fiancée. Veronica Zuazo of Orlando petitioned an Orange County, Fla., court in 2005 for an injunction of protection, citing at least three occasions when Zimmerman's unpredictable temper led to violent physical outbursts. And in July 2005, Zimmerman — who was part of a Neighborhood Watch program when he approached Trayvon — was arrested on felony charges of resisting an officer with violence. He was also charged with battery on a law enforcement officer after the altercation at an Orlando bar popular with college students. The charge was later reduced to a misdemeanor count, and Zimmerman served eight months community service. “Everywhere this guy goes," said Winters, "he causes controversy. You’d think he’d keep a low profile!”
