The sick plot was hatched in England, with teenager Haroon Syed pleading guilty to a sick scheme to wear a bomb vest and blow himself up while surrounded by innocent revelers. But — thanks to British intelligence agents — Elton's televised concert in London's Hyde Park was able to proceed in peace.
Syed had gone online in a search for explosives, and also targeted other crowded London hotspots as targets for his murderous rage. The teen said that he was looking to do “some damage with machine gun, do martyrdom...that's what I'm planning to do!”
Authorities made an arrest after Syed purchased a nail bomb. in the first week of September. After his confession, Judge Michael Topolski declared that Syed is facing a potential life sentence. And in a shocking twist, the teen isn't even the first terrorist in his family!
Syed's older brother is already serving a life sentence for plotting his own ISIS-inspired attack on the UK holiday Remembrance Day. Nadir Syed (inset) was plotting to perform a public decapitation while England honored members of the armed forces who died in the line of duty.
