Ellen DeGeneres’ Heartbreak Over Dying Dad

Ellen DeGeneres revealed to her studio audience that her father had passed away at the age of 92 — but her touching tribute followed turbulent years of family feuding!

The National ENQUIRER revealed how Ellen had moved her father into an elder care facility after he fell and broke his hip in 2016 — and was previously paying the monthly rental at the California apartment where he lived with her stepmom Virginia.  Former landlord Jon Hoffelt said: “I know they’re in an assisted-living facility — but I don’t know which one. No one knows because Ellen is obsessed with keeping things private.”

Elliott's fall over a patio entrance, however, only came after his neighbors blasted Ellen for not getting him out of the apartment complex. “Elliott and his wife desperately need a new place to live!” a concerned neighbor had warned earlier in 2016. “They can’t keep climbing those steps...They should be in an assisted living facility without stairs.”

Despite reports of a rift after Ellen came out as gay, Elliott had assured neighbors in 2014: “I love her very, very, very much. Everything is fine between us.” And in a touching tribute, Ellen assured her viewers that her sexuality hadn't been an issue at the end, saying: “There was not one bone of judgment in his body.”
