"Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency," said the official announcement. "When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind. Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating seventeen candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican party."

"Steve pretends to be at war with the media, which he calls the opposition party," Trump added, "yet he spent his time at the White House leaking false information to the media to make himself seem far more important than he was. It is the only thing he does well." And that's also what White House insiders told The ENQUIRER months before Bannon finally heard "You're fired!" by Trump.

In addition to calling Bannon a “prima donna and a leaker of almost unthinkable proportions,” the White House source said: “When push comes to shove, Steve has been instrumental in honing the president’s policy platform, of taking his vision of America and the globe, and translating it into legislation. But there’s a lot to put up with when it comes to Steve."

The insider added that Bannon's days were officially numbered after the Chief Strategist made the cover of TIME magazine for an article titled, “Is Steve Bannon the Second Most Powerful Man in the World?” Insiders said that Trump believed Bannon had worked with editors to land the coverage. Said the insider: “Just consider the TIME magazine cover as proof point A. Then there are Steve’s attempts to advance his own agenda through unsourced statements in the press. It’s time to cut bait.”

Trump also blasted Bannon for his latest quotes about Don Jr. — which are found in a new book that claims to provide an inside look at the Trump administration. "Steve was rarely in a one-on-one meeting with me," said Trump, "and only pretends to have had influence to fool a few people with no access and no clue, whom he helped write phony books."
