Dolly Parton Renews Marriage Vows After Decades Of Scandals

Dolly Parton had a memorable Memorial Day as she celebrated 50 years of marriage to husband Carl Dean — and 50 years of scandals and rumors since the couple's nuptials on May 30, 1966. RadarOnline.com reported that the very private ceremony took place as planned earlier in the year, when goddaughter Miley Cyrus revealed that the renewals would likely take place at Parton’s Willow Lake Plantation home in Brentwood, Tennessee. Dolly had already promised to be in a wedding dress — adding: "I didn't have a big long wedding dress when we got married!"

It's been a wild ride for the couple since Dolly, now 70, first met her husband outside of the Wishy Washy Laundromat in Nashville. The petite songbird went on to international stardom far beyond her wildest dreams of success as a country musician. In the process, Carl has had to endure plenty of rumors about Dolly's glamorous life while keeping his own low profile!

That included sources telling The National ENQUIRER that Dolly had planned an even more private ceremony in 2014 with her longtime rumored lesbian love, Judy Ogle.The women have been best friends since third grade, and while Dolly insists they’ve never been sexually intimate and has repeatedly denied that she's a lesbian, the “Jolene” singer has also admitted that the two share a bed when they travel together.

Dolly even immortalized the longtime pair's first meeting in last year's TV-movie biopic "Coat of Many Colors." After she and Judy survived a horrific car crash in 2013, Dolly decided to deepen their already strong bond, insiders say. “Dolly is intent on solidifying her love for Judy in a semi-official ceremony,” revealed a close source. “While Dolly can’t legally take Judy as her spouse since she’s still married to Carl, this ‘commitment’ ceremony will be the next best thing. It will take the spiritual bond they’ve shared since grade school to the next level.” An insider added: “The car accident was a big wakeup call for Dolly. She was jolted into realizing that she came very close to losing Judy, and now she wants to make the most of the time they have left together.”

The ENQUIRER also revealed last year that the renewal of the wedding vows was almost called off by Carl — after being convinced that the country queen had never gotten over a scorching six-year liaison she had with a hunky bodyguard. Carl “hit the roof” when he heard fans were buzzing over rumors that Dolly had once cheated on him with a 6'5" “mountain of muscle” identified as Mark Kiracofe, said a source. But the long-ago affair has been confirmed by The ENQUIRER – and we can report that it not only pushed the couple’s marriage to the brink, but Dolly still hasn’t been able to get over Mark almost 20 years later!

“Dolly can’t quit Mark in her heart," an insider told The ENQUIRER. "And when Carl confronted Dolly about it, she admitted as such! That doesn’t sit well with Carl, who is ready to tell her to forget their planned big wedding anniversary next May – when they were set to renew their vows. The fact is, Carl’s furious over this, and now the bad memories of what happened between Dolly and Mark are flooding back to him and leaving him sick in his stomach.”

The wedding vows also survived a report earlier this year that Dolly had even had a brief affair with fellow star Kenny Rogers! “Kenny and Dolly did the deed," a Nashville insider close to both entertainers confirmed to The ENQUIRER. "It happened way back in the 1980s when they were working together!” A second inside source added: “They’ve privately admitted they went to bed together. They were on top of the world at the time with their duet and #1 hit ‘Islands in the Stream.’ They were performing together, and they just sort of fell into each other’s arms one night. It happened in Las Vegas!”

Dolly and Carl still got together in Tennessee despite the years of scandalous tales. "[Carl] don’t like to do this kind of thing as a rule, but he’s like me — he’s proud we’ve made it 50 years,” Dolly explained — adding that the world will eventually get a glimpse of the private ceremony, as she planned to document it to raise funds for charity.
